Angel Wing Mushrooms (Pleurocybella porrigens)
Angel Wings (Pleurocybella porrigens) - EDIBLE: GOOD
Key Features: A stalkless white fan shaped to elongated ear shaped mushroom. It is a very thin-fleshed mushroom which feels dry and smooth to the touch. Some may be minutely hairy on top. The gills are crowded and narrow and descend to the stub-like base and range in color from white to cream. The spore print is white.
Season: September - October
Habitat: Scattered to many on decaying coniferous wood; many say particularly on hemlock varieties.

Picked a bunch of these angel wings today. The local buyer wanted to buy them, but we’re interested in EATING them. Sauteed in butter & garlic? Is this the best way?
