Key Features: Is a smaller, slender trumpet-shaped mushroom with a brownish to orange-brown cap.  The stipe (stem) is hollow. The gills look very similar to that of the standard Chanterelle, except for the fact that they don't run all the way down the stipe. Often grows in large clumps. Some people say they also have the faint smell of Apricots. They can also be an indicator that black trumpets are nearby.

Season: August - November (All winter in California)

Habitat: Most often found in mixed woods, especially where dead wood, wood chips, or thick duff is present. Sphagnum type mosses are often present.
